Musician's Information :

Singer, songwriter, rancher, horseman, and the original, world-famous  Yahoo® yodeler, Wylie Gustafson leads the musical outfit known as The Wild West. The first incarnation of the group formed in 1989, getting its start on Ronnie Mack's Barn Dance at the Palomino Club in North Hollywood. Since then, Wylie & The Wild West have played thousands of gigs, delighting audiences around the world with their unique brand of good-time cowboy music. They've performed at the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, The National Folk Festival, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, on A Prairie Home Companion, and have appeared more than 50 times on the Grand Ole Opry.

Wylie & the Wild West were recently honored by the Academy of Western Artists and the Western Music Association with awards for the 2005 Group of the Year, 2004 and 2005 Yodeler of the Year, and 2006 Best Western Swing Album. Their music is in regular rotation on the world's most listened to satellite radio station, Willie's Place- XM Radio Channel 13 with over 2 million listeners.

With the twelfth release of his career and his ever-increasing media profile (feature spreads in everything from The Seattle Times to Western Horseman), Wylie & the Wild West are bringing their rollicking sound to new audiences the world over. And, in case you didn't know, that's Wylie's voice echoing in millions of homes as the ever-familiar Ya-hoo-ooo! in the Yahoo.com advertising campaign.

All of Wylie's music is dashed off with a hardy dose of trail dust. For him, his Western lifestyle and the recording studio are inseparable. Wylie is an accomplished cutting horse enthusiast who was the 2005 NCHA Western National Finals Champion. That shiny belt buckle he wears wasn't bought on e-Bay. He and his wife Kimberley actively operate one of the Northwest's premier cow horse training facilities: www.crossthreequarterhorses.com.

Wylie and the Wild West band members include: Ray Doyle (guitar, baritone guitar, mandolin & harmony vocals), Josh Dreyer (drums) and T. Scot Wilburn (guitar, fiddle & steel).

From 1976 to 1984, “The Starlite Ramblers'” outstanding instrumental and original vocal style set Colorado nightlife a stompin' and a twirlin' with a mixture of Western Swing, Big Band, and good time party songs. Nationally, the Ramblers have performed from Arizona, Texas and Oklahoma to Idaho and beyond. They were a popular draw with opening acts for such notables as the Jerry Jeff Walker Band, John Denver, Ed Bruce, John Hartford, Merlin and Doc Watson, Asleep at the Wheel and Doug Kershaw.

The Ramblers front man and lead vocalist Michael Golden has been described as being the most versatile entertainer in country music with his tremendous mellifluous voice, dynamite musical abilities and his great fluency in performing no less than six instruments. Whether yodeling a nostalgic tune or performing his all time popular recitation of the “Auctioneer,” Michaels' brilliant and inspirational stage performances helped to distinguish the Starlite Ramblers from other “standard fare” bands. Michael and his salient performances are well known for their outrageous and zany comedic antics, raw endless energy, quick wit and agile, entertaining, fancy foot work and dance.

The group disbanded in 1983 after seven years of playing to standing room only crowds at clubs, concerts, and rodeos in many western states. Twenty years have come and gone but the Rambler's popularity has not. After The 2005 Reunion shows, member's Jerel, Levi, and Levi's son Shannon would get together and play music. Well, one thing lead to another. Original keyboardist and founder, Steve Fahl jumped on the wagon and together they decided to put a band together. Along came drummer Ray Wasinger and Boo Ya!! The new incarnation of the Starlite Ramblers was complete.

Jimmy Gelhaar - Jimmy likes lots and lots of different music... he's played in bands, too. Jimmy states, "I used to play keyboards, acoustic guitar and backing vocals for Kerri-Ann Griffith. The best time we had was opening for Trick Pony in front of 8000 people and then after their concert, setting up on the free stage and having Heidi, Keith, and Ira jam with us on stage. That was a blast and the audience loved it as they were within 2 feet of them. It is a cool memory..."
