"Jim Brings in the Brumbies" (Published by COLGEMS-EMI MUSIC INC. / BRUCE ROWLAND ENT. (ASCAP) DVD Reviews: "Hi Pam --- I loved it!
I particularly loved what you did with the photos during ‘’Cattle Drive" - it just worked perfectly.
In fact, I also think that the multiple composer approach worked seamlessly & the different styles complemented each other beautifully!
But enough about the music. You have taken some absolutely stunning photographs in some absolutely stunning locations.
I'm sure it's taken days if not weeks or months of photography and you've achieved an absolutely stunning result. I'm very proud that you asked me to be part of it and I want to thank you for asking me to be involved.
I think that what you have achieved is probably the best photographs of their kind ever taken.
I think your work is magnificent!
Bravo." "With the constant onslaught of advertisement for numerous movies and in-your-face documentaries, pledges for financial support and commitment to a wide array of good causes and the overall financial climate we live in today, it is easy to be overwhelmed into a state of guilt and numbness where beauty and dreams have no place, where inactivity is the normal state of mind. With Our Wild Horses and Our Wild Horses II, Pam has managed to let these spiritual, beautiful, wild creatures not only tell their own stories but also that of America. She has brought the beauty and dreams back into our lives which allow us to engage ourselves not based on guilt or shame but because we want to do so. Our Wild Horses and Our Wild Horses II is movie making at its best. Both Hollywood and independent movie makers ought to pay attention to Pam's effortless storytelling, her lack of lecturing and bullying and thereby the respect she shows for her audience's intelligence. Our Wild Horses and Our Wild Horses II are must haves not only for horse lovers but for everyone who believes in the legacy of America." "Our Wild Horses II" by Pam Nickoles is a superior work of art combining visual and audio mediums to create a spectacular and profound experience. Nevermind the awesome subject matter itself - wild horses interacting freely in their natural habitat of beautiful western landscapes - but Pam's photographs are gorgeous, sensitive, creative - so rich that the viewer feels like they are right there among the horses. The captivating photography is set to beloved and marvelous music, such as selections from "The Man From Snowy River", which lures you into the horses' world and feels like you are watching live action and witnessing the private lives of wild horses first-hand." "One of our country's finest treasures is documented in this amazing wild horse DVD. The magnificent pictures are accentuated by beautifully touching music. It's a pleasure for anyone viewing this to share in the passion shared by all of the artists involved in this project." "WOWOWOW! STUNNING! I absolutely love it. The music is dead-on perfect (WOW! that music is just beautiful), and I love all the sections and how the music fits the various "collections." You have done a fabulous job showing the horses, their environment, their behavior, their tenderness, strength, grace, wisdom and beauty - even silliness! Simply stunning. Bravo!! I love all the variety of the photos, and the number of herds you have visited and photographed is just huge! You have done a phenomenal job." "Pam has done great work in photographing wild horses all around the country. She shows wild horses coming from a variety of backgrounds living in different ecosystems, and a number of these photographs are of horses and places that few people have ever seen. This DVD thus demonstrates well the diverse characteristics and lifestyles of today’s wild horses. The thoughtfulness in her researching individual horses and arranging the photographs to a great selection of music further enhances this DVD experience."
"I purchased the set for my daughter for Christmas. She is the manager of Superstition Stable in Apache Junction, AZ. She moved a TV in the main office dining room along with a box of Kleenex during the holiday dinner with 40 clients. EVERYONE was totally in awe of all the beauty, and the music. Since then it has been watched by small groups over and over, the reference book remains there too and is gone thru by all who spend leisure, social time there. I will be sending her your new one soon. Wonderful, heart tugging work." The following clip is not representative of the quality of the actual DVD:
